A Toronto-based writer, a filmmaker, and a performer, Jackie Batsinduka is young,
femme, black and trying to convince you to read her new script. A graduate of Concordia
University’s Communications Studies program, Jackie began her professional film career in visual effects, coordinating the production teams of major
feature films. In 2019, Jackie released her latest short film, Geni, which had it’s premiere at the Regent Park Film Festival. Jackie was also selected for the Black Women Film! Canada Leadership Program in 2019, which brought her to Toronto. Now, she’s spending her quaran-time co-producing and co-hosting Skillin’ It, a weekly virtual filmmaking skill share, with Coral Aiken.
