A writer, director, actor, and the 2006 Royal Oak Elementary School Spelling Bee champion, Jackie has always liked staying busy. A graduate of Concordia
University’s Communications Studies program, Jackie began her professional film career in visual effects, coordinating the production teams of major
feature films.
Jackie’s latest short film Geni, which she wrote, directed & starred in, had its premiere at the Regent Park Film Festival in 2019. That same year, she was selected for the Black Women Film! Canada Leadership Program. Her latest directing credits are for two episodes of CBC Gem’s 2021 digital series virgins!
Jackie has written for CBC’s hit comedy series One More Time, story edited for the 2024 Canadian Screen Award winner for Best Comedy series Bria Mack Gets A Life,and a slew of shows in development. In 2024, Jackie was selccted to take part in Anthony Q. Farrell’s renowned Diverse Showrunner Bootcamp, sponsored by Warner Bros. Discovery.She spent her quaran-time co-creating, co-producing and co-hosting virtual filmmaking skill share Skillin’ Itwith Coral Aiken, and webseries Slumber Partywith Rebecca Rogers.
In her spare time, Jackie likes to take out too many library books out at once, bike through Toronto’s city intersections without stopping, and manifest an invite to Issa Rae’s annual yacht party.
